Querido Familia!!!
Wowza... This week, I will complete ONE YEAR as a Missionary for la Iglesia de Jesucristo de Los Santos de los Ultimos Dias! Time has flown!
This week was full of lots of fun and interesting moments (mostly fun) here in Perù Lima Norte!
Monday: HAPPY 4th OF JULY!!!!!! For the 4th this year, we had a BBQ as a zone with hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, and even GUACAMOLE (Yum..) We had lots of fun and it was a little bit of home (I even bought a Dr. Pepper to celebrate! hehe)
Tuesday: We had time in the morning to clean our room for the room checks. Hermana Garibay and I cleaned a bit and mostly decorated! hahaha. Including handmade paper fruits and veggies created by yours truly to help us to remember to eat healthy! HAhaa
Wedesday: We had service in the morning with the Familia Huaytan. They work setting up tents for events, birthdays, weddings, etc. so we helped them to fold the yards and yards and yards and yards of fabric that they have . Woot. What an arm workout! hahaha. But they are the best and we love serving them.
Thursday: We had a Meeting with the Zone Wiese. We talked about the new goals for this month and also received some really good trainings!
Friday: We had our interviews with Presidente Godfrey! it was really good and he is really ready to work hard and to help us succeed. We also had our room checks with Hermana Godfrey. Her spanish is really coming along. I already love them both!
That night for dinner, we were invited to eat with the Familia Lopez Luna. They are so sweet and have 2 young boys who LOVE Michael Jackson. Hahaha.
Saturday: We had a work visit with Elder Sanjuan (our District Leader) and then that evening was the baptism of CAROL!!! It was very humble and very sweet and she was SUPER happy! We loved to see her family there too supporting her! It was a great experience. She has progressed SO much since we`ve met her and she`ll only keep progressing!
Sunday: We had a really succesful day and finished off the week well!
Welp, Family, That`s my week!
I am so grateful for the privledge that I have been able to have to be a missionary here in Lima Norte. This has been one of the most amazing experiences of my whole life and I would NEVER trade it for anything else! As I was finishing the Book of Mormon this week, I came to the book of Eter. It reminded me a lot about my farewell talk and how the Jaredites NEEDED the storms and winds and waves to carry them to the promised land. I have had some big storms and some winds and some waves in my mission, but I KNOW that they are only leading me to be better every day and leading me to my ultimate goal-- to be more like Jesus Christ.
I love you all lots and hope you have a fantastic week!
Oh yeah, a funny spanish word I learned this week is Gaguanddo. It means misting and Gagu is mist! hehehe.
Love you lots!
Love love love love love,
Hermana Kira Andrus
Royer, my friend from my first area, LEFT FOR HIS MISSION TODAY! I will see him in IDAHO when I get back! haha.
