Nearly 20 years old!

Hola Mi Querida Familia!!

This week was good! I felt like the Lord really blessed us in our work here, even though there were a lot of trials!
So... I realized I forgot my list of things to write about last week, and I forgot to mention something from last week, so I will mention it here!!! :)

LAST WEEK:

Remember my friend Royer from Canto Rey? Well... HE GOT HIS MISSION CALL!!!!! He is going to Pocatello Idaho and leaves in June or July!! AHHH!!! It was sooo exciting!! He is so excited and I am so excited for him! Plus, I will be studying up there, so maybe I´ll get to see him!! ahhh! hahaha. It was awesome news!

THIS WEEK:
Monday; for P-day, it was the changes, so we had a free P-day, which was nice because our zone decided to get together! We played Volleyball and then watched the Lego Movie! so fun!
That evening, we said goodbye to our recent convert Stephany. She is moving to Ecuador.. So sad, but sweet too. She has gone through so many trials and she is really looking forward to the possiblities ahead in Ecuador! It was sweet. :´)

Tueday: It full on rained here!!! Like... a good sprinkle!! It was awesome! I miss the rain so much and it was so nice to be able to feel the rain on my face, although my shoes got pretty dirty because of all the dirt, it was totally worth it! I loved it!

Wednesday: We did a service project for a lady in the other Hermana´s ward. We painted her house white. the paint is really interesting here. It comes in a bag in a like, a paste-type form and you mix it with water. It like, burns your eyes and nose, but it washes out of clothes! Hahaha. It was fun, and the lady fed us Arroz con Pollo for lunch. YUM!

Thursday: We had a work visit with Elder Pitcher and his new comp Elder Ushiñahua, who I knew a little bit from my time in Canto Grande. It was a good visit and we talked to the brother and sister of Christian and they want to get baptized, so that was awesome!

Friday: We had a Lamanita with the Sister Training Leaders (where they come to your house and talk about how your studies are going and how you are doing in your area and all that and the new Sister Training Leader is HERMANA EVANS from my first zone!!!! yay!! She´s the best and helped me SO SO SO much in my first area! Ahhh!
That afternoon, we taught this new lady named Flor Peralta! She is a reference from a member in the ward. She is cool! sweet! she told us that she felt something different about our church and she is really animated about learning more about the gospel! Eek! Yay!

Saturday: We did a service in the morning for the Jimenez Family! They were getting ready for this thing they have here called a Pollada. It´s where you borrow a bunch of chicken and cook it and sell a little meal thing for like 12 soles and with the money you earn, you pay for the chicken and whatever you are raising money for. So we helped them with that and one of my duties was to CLEAN THE CHICKEN FEET!! Ahhhh! There were like 24 feet to clean and I had to cut off the toenails and then strip the feet of the yellow stuff. It was the first time I have ever done it and it was SO COOL!!! Hahahaha, Definitely something that I will remember! hahaha. The lady dealt with all the chicken heads, but they loved that I wanted to help them out with the feet! hahaha.
That evening we had a work visit with Elder Parra, our Zone Leader. It was really good!

Sunday: Was a sad day because the siblings of Christian didn´t come to church...... Sad sad sad....
BUT... we went out and contacted and found some really cool people!
We also taught Flor. she was really sad because she felt like nothing was going well for her since she started to listen to us. I talked to her a lot about how when we do things that are good and when we´re following the gospel, Satan hates that and just wants to attack us and keep us from doing what´s right and good. But these moments are when we are tested the most. we choose betwee following the Lord and using his help to get through a difficult time or is we are going to fall in the temptations and lies of Satan that we can´t do it. It was a great moment for me to think about the trials in my life and how I can use those times to help me grow closer to Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. They will always help us.

That´s a little bit about my week this week! It was a great one, and this week is my last few days as a 19 year old!
Oh... Hahaha. that is something funny about here! Hahaha. Everyone here thinks that I have like, 25-28 years. They are always so suprised when I tell them I am only 19... Hahaha. This one time, we asked this lady we were teaching how old she thought I was and she said 38!!!! No less that 35.... Ah.... Hahahah. I have just learned to laugh and let it go! But I am glad I will be passing 20 so people don´t have to look SO suprised when I tell them my real age! Hahahaha.

I love you guys so much and hope this week is a great one!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOU!

Love,
Hermana Kira Andrus! :)

Transfer Week!

HOla Familia!
Disunfortunadamente, no hay mucho para reportar este semana, pero hay algunas noticias!!
Unfortunately, there´s not a lot to report this week, but there are some other notices!! Hahaha

Well... it is the end of another change!!
We had a multi-zone meeting this week and they announced a new way to do the changes--- worldwide! Now, the Elders are going to be traveling solo to their new areas and we will get a phone call sunday night or monday morning to tell us if we are having changes or training.... and...

I AM WITH MY COMPANION FOR ANOTHER CHANGE!! Hehehe.
We are pretty happy about that! We have a lot of potential and we get along pretty well, so that´s good! This change is going to be 7 weeks since they are changing the amount of time the Latinos are in the CCM (3 weeks instead of 2).

We have a new investigator that we have been working with this week named Patricia! She is awesome! Her boyfriend person is a less active for MUCHOS años, but we got to teach her and the next time we visited, she told us she had read the introduction of the book of mormon and prayed and received a dream (dreams are really big here) where she saw the first vision of José Smith.. It was so cool and I could really feel the spirit!

Besides that, we are just working along! The weather is still incredibly hot, but the evenings are perfect!

Sorry this letter is short and there are no pictures this week... I forgot my camera in my proselyting bag... hehehe.

I will do better next week! hehehe.

I love you guys!

Love love love,
Hermana Andrus

Good bye January, and Baptisms

Mi Querido Familia!
Esta semana pasó tan tan rapido!! Ahhh. No hay mucho para compartir, entonces, lo siento si es un poquito loco, pero... Fue una semana BAKAN! Hehehehe.

This week passed so quickly! There´s not much to share soo... sorry if it´s a little crazy, but it was a great week!!

Monday: for P¨-DAy we went to this SUPER DELICIOUS restuarant and I ate this stuff called Chicharron, which is fried sea food... so good! We watched Ratatouille for the  movie which was sweet and funny.

Tuesday: We met this new investigator named Veronica... she is awesome and has so much potential! We are working with her for a baptism at the end of the month!

Thursday: I got the PACKAGE!!! It was aweomse mom!! Seriosuly the best! You always think of everything! Hehhe
Also... something a little crazy... we were walking to our lunch and passed this market where they were selling chickens to eat... But they had this chicken cut in such a way that you could see the whole digestive system... and the proccess of how an egg is formed in the chicken... Bahahha. it was so weird and crazy, but also so interesting! IT´s funny... seeing chicken parts or parts of chickens or people butchering chickens in the street is now normal for me... Hahaha. I love Perú! Haha
I also receieved a proposal from a sweet old guy that evening! Hahahaha.

Friday: We were in our room studying, when all of the sudden our doorbell wrang... It´s pretty uncommon so I went outside to see who it was... It was 2 missionaries from the Testigos de Jehovah (Jehova Witness´) They were sweet but suprised to see a Missionary from la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Ultimos Dias, but they were nice and shared a short scripture.. Hahaha.
That afternoon we had the baptisms of Luis and Dora Rosa (they are the kids of Miriam-- another one  of our recent converts!) It was so sweet!! They were so happy afterwards, which was awesosme!

Saturday: we had a work visit in the evening with our Zone Leader Elder Reschke! It was good! He´s a good missionary and we got lots of good tips. Work visits are the best!

Sunday: We did a lot of contacting and contacted this one family who seemed really nice at first, but ended up just wanting to bible bash... eek! We just gave them a pamphlet and invited them to church! bahaaha.
There is this guy who recently has been seeing us in the street and yelling "I want to change for you! I will change for you! teach me!" Well... last night on our way home he yelled at us again and was like "I AM SERIOUS!" So I told him if he was really serious, he´ll come to the capilla (Chapel...Hehe) I gave him the direction and he was really suprised! We´ll have to see if he comes!! bahaha.

Well.... Sorry this letter is a little crazy, but there´s just lots of work to do! I love it out here and even though it is SO HOT (seriously... so much humidity!! bahahaha) I love waking up and going out and teaching the sweet people of Perú! They´re the best!

I love you guys and hope this week is a good one for you!
I can´t believe that this is the last week of this change! The time is flying! Love you guys! Miss you guiys!
